The Sidekick Cap is built with the same wool, construction, and classic pull-down earband as the Original Stormy Kromer Cap. The main differences are its shorter brim for a more flattering fit and an offset earband tie that sits to the side instead of the center front.
The Sidekick Cap is designed for cold-weather comfort, but how warm it feels depends on the person and the conditions. Wool provides natural warmth while remaining breathable, making it a great choice for cool to cold weather. If you regularly spend extended time outdoors in extreme cold, consider one of our insulated styles or hats with longer earbands for additional warmth.
No. The Sidekick Cap is lined with soft cotton flannel, and the sweatband is made from a comfortable polycotton blend. The wool outer shell provides warmth and durability, while the materials against your skin are designed for everyday comfort.
Just like the Original Stormy Kromer Cap, the Sidekick's earband pulls down to provide extra warmth when you need it. Simply slide your thumb between the earband and the cap, then pull it down over your ears. There's no need to untie or unfold anything. The tie is positioned to the side, but the earband functions exactly the same.
For most people, the Sidekick Cap's earband covers about one-half to two-thirds of the ear. Because everyone's head shape and ear placement are different, coverage will vary. If you're looking for more coverage or added warmth in extreme cold, Stormy Kromer also offers styles with longer earbands and additional insulation.
Dry cleaning is the best way to care for your Sidekick Cap. For small spills or stains, spot cleaning is often enough. If your cap gets wet from rain or snow, let it air dry naturally away from direct heat or sunlight. Never put your wool cap in the dryer, as the heat can cause it to shrink.

I own two of the sidekick caps. A gray plaid (new), and a white one. I love how they look and they are a great cap for cold winter days. I customized both caps by putting a large snowflake pin in place of the ties. Sparkly and very girly. get compliments all the time. A Kromer is a great winter cap... warm and fashionable.

I purchased 2 caps, the SideKick and the Rancher( for those really cold days) , I love them both! I originally choose the caps because I needed a warm hat with a visor to keep the sun glare at bay while walking my dog, but the Side Kick is so cute I wear it all the time! Also of note, Stormy Kromer’s customer service is phenomenal !!!!

I couldn't decide and bought two caps, this and a Millie. Love them both! This neutral color goes with all my coats, keeps me warm and looks cute! I wear it running as well as out and about. New problem is deciding which one to wear!

LOVE this cap. Game changer for keeping warm stylishly. Unfortunately it runs a bit small. Really wish I had sized up. I don't know why the size chart is so specific about measuring, then comes in small. Also, I would love this hat and or the Millie Kromer in a solid navy or a watch plaid. Now that I know to size up, that would be perfection!

Gave this to my sons girlfriend, she liked it because of the warmth for her barn job and also for the slight extra detail with tie on the side - just a bit more girly.

The Sidekick cap is my new favorite Stormy Kromer cap. And the fawn color goes with everything. The cap keeps your head safe from the cold elements and to mention the ear flaps keep your ears warm and toasty.
