  • Use a soft tape measure to measure around your head where you like your hat to sit. Divide that measurement by 3.14 (π), then round up to the nearest 1/8. This is your Stormy Kromer hat size. If you don't have a tape measure, you can also use a piece of string and measure it against a ruler. Please remember that these hats generally do not stretch over time. If your measurement falls between sizes, or if you prefer a looser fit, we recommend sizing up.

  • The Original Stormy Kromer Cap is designed for cold-weather comfort, but how warm it feels depends on the person and the conditions. Wool provides natural warmth while remaining breathable, making it a great choice for cool to cold weather. If you regularly spend extended time outdoors in extreme cold, consider one of our insulated styles or hats with longer earbands for additional warmth.

  • No. The Original Stormy Kromer Cap is lined with soft cotton flannel, and the sweatband is made from a comfortable polycotton blend. The wool outer shell provides warmth and durability, while the materials against your skin are designed for everyday comfort.

  • Simply slide your thumb between the earband and the cap, then pull the earband down over your ears. There's no need to untie or unfold anything. When you're ready, just pull it back up into place for the classic Stormy Kromer look.

  • For most people, the Original Stormy Kromer Cap's earband covers about one-half to two-thirds of the ear. Because everyone's head shape and ear placement are different, coverage will vary. If you're looking for more coverage or added warmth in extreme cold, Stormy Kromer also offers styles with longer earbands and additional insulation.

  • Dry cleaning is the best way to care for your Original Stormy Kromer Cap. For small spills or stains, spot cleaning is often enough. If your cap gets wet from rain or snow, let it air dry naturally away from direct heat or sunlight. Never put your wool cap in the dryer, as the heat can cause it to shrink.

    I have a red original stormy kromer for about 14 years. It’s on my head from early fall to spring and still looks new, great quality. Also like to thank the entire stormy kromer team for shifting gears and helping out With the corona virus, class act by a class company! Yooper Proud

    I live in the Adirondacks. The winters are long, cold and windy. Oh, did I mention I’m bald. I demand quality. This is my third Stormy Kromer hat. I own a Rancher for those crazy cold days below zero. I also own 2 originals. For the cold weather outdoorsman, these hat are a “must have”. Snow blowing, hiking, hunting, walking the dog. You name it. These hats will keep you warm and you’ll look awesome. Quality, hand sewn, wool products priced to sell. I don’t know why you don’t have one yet. Thanks Stormy Kromer family.     Bought two of these caps one black, one gray for my wife on our 37th anniversary because my buddy from Michigan wore one while down here in Texas. We had gone into Buckee's for coffee and were stopped several times by women admiring the hat. This cap looks great on both men and women...subtle beauty.     The cap arrived two days ago and it was well packaged. The cap fits well and the sewing is well done I look forward to wearing it a long time. I appreciate the fact it was made in Michigan and especially in the UP. More Michiganders should look to the UP to purchase their winter appearl. This cap is unique!
