If your measurement falls between sizes, or if you prefer a looser fit, we recommend sizing up.

Wool provides natural warmth while remaining breathable, making it a great choice for cool to cold weather. If you regularly spend extended time outdoors in extreme cold, consider one of our insulated styles or hats with longer earbands for additional warmth.

  • No. The Original Stormy Kromer Cap is lined with soft cotton flannel, and the sweatband is made from a comfortable polycotton blend. The wool outer shell provides warmth and durability, while the materials against your skin are designed for everyday comfort.

  • Simply slide your thumb between the earband and the cap, then pull the earband down over your ears. There's no need to untie or unfold anything. When you're ready, just pull it back up into place for the classic Stormy Kromer look.

  • For most people, the Original Stormy Kromer Cap's earband covers about one-half to two-thirds of the ear. Because everyone's head shape and ear placement are different, coverage will vary. If you're looking for more coverage or added warmth in extreme cold, Stormy Kromer also offers styles with longer earbands and additional insulation.

  • Dry cleaning is the best way to care for your Original Stormy Kromer Cap. For small spills or stains, spot cleaning is often enough. If your cap gets wet from rain or snow, let it air dry naturally away from direct heat or sunlight. Never put your wool cap in the dryer, as the heat can cause it to shrink.

    I have two Stormy Kromer hats, one I wear (the old one) and a newer one I don't. I was going to buy a new one if you had gone back to the original bill design, it doesn't look like you have. The bill on the newer one barely covers my eyebrows. Dave in Idaho

    my stormykromer is the best hat i have ever owned,i own about six hundred different hats at this time.i live and work in the rugged outdoors of p.a. to me,wool is the best water shedding material out there.not only is this hat functional,it is so good looking on me.i have recieved many compliments and inquiries about my hat,i really debated on it because of price but decided that i would only have to buy one in my lifetime.american made,a warranty that surpasses everyone else how could i go wrong?i absolutely love it and will pass it on to my grandchildren someday........no i think i will be buried with it thank you for a great product....shawn aldrich

    While on a hunting trip to Montana I shopped in a local sporting goods store and spotted a Stormy Kromer hat and couldn't resist it. I live in the Sierra Foothills of California and find the hat comfortable and warm, so good in fact I just ordered and received two more, one in red plaid for me and a blaze orange for my Grandson.     I love these hats. They are comfortable, functional, and made in America. They haven't been around for 111 years for no reason. I have already gotten a friend converted into a fan as well. I definitely recommend these hats!

    I bought it hoping it would help keep me warm and because it's a Michigan thing. I love my hat, and I love the high quality. Living in California I had to get it from a local store in South Coast Plaza, an up scale mall in Orange County, so I guess they are fashionable.
