Use a soft tape measure to measure around your head where you like your hat to sit. Divide that measurement by 3.14 (π), then round up to the nearest 1/8. This is your Stormy Kromer hat size. If you don't have a tape measure, you can also use a piece of string and measure it against a ruler. Please remember that these hats generally do not stretch over time. If your measurement falls between sizes, or if you prefer a looser fit, we recommend sizing up.

Wool provides natural warmth while remaining breathable, making it a great choice for cool to cold weather. If you regularly spend extended time outdoors in extreme cold, consider one of our insulated styles or hats with longer earbands for additional warmth.

No. The Original Stormy Kromer Cap is lined with soft cotton flannel, and the sweatband is made from a comfortable polycotton blend. The wool outer shell provides warmth and durability, while the materials against your skin are designed for everyday comfort.

Simply slide your thumb between the earband and the cap, then pull the earband down over your ears. There's no need to untie or unfold anything. When you're ready, just pull it back up into place for the classic Stormy Kromer look.

For most people, the Original Stormy Kromer Cap's earband covers about one-half to two-thirds of the ear. Because everyone's head shape and ear placement are different, coverage will vary. If you're looking for more coverage or added warmth in extreme cold, Stormy Kromer also offers styles with longer earbands and additional insulation.

Dry cleaning is the best way to care for your Original Stormy Kromer Cap. For small spills or stains, spot cleaning is often enough. If your cap gets wet from rain or snow, let it air dry naturally away from direct heat or sunlight. Never put your wool cap in the dryer, as the heat can cause it to shrink.

This is the 3rd Stormy Kromer hat that I have ordered. I have Olympic ski jumping hat, the Wisconsin Kromer cap, and now the Ottawa camo Kromer. In reading one of the reviews it noted that the hat was small and one should order a size larger, so I did. Wrong move. I should have trusted my own thoughts and went with the same size that my other Stormy's are. Got the new Kromer and it was a tad large, so had to send it back. Now waiting for the return of my new Ottaway Kromer. Thanks for making a quality product right here in the USA.

Hey there I do really like the original stormy Kromer. My family has been wearing them for years and years! The only problem I continuously have with them is that they shrink. They get shorter. When I get the hat they come all the way down to my ears but after wearing them they shrink up so the darn ear flaps have to be pulled down so the hat isn’t just sitting atop my head. ~~ We'd like to talk with you about this issue and see what we need to adjust. This hat is not even close to fitting my head. I used the fitting guide and is at least 3 sizes to small. Also the hat looked terrible. Nothing like the picture. It looked like someone waded it up and threw it in the box. I am sending this back and I will not be ordering another. Very disappointed. ~~ I am sorry to hear of your disappointment in our Original cap. We don't like to hear that your cap was packaged poorly and that it didn't fit they way you expected. The only Issue i have is: The size of the band to cover your ears should be slightly wider/larger meaning when i pull the band down over my ears the bottom ear lopes are exposed by .25 to .50 would make a big difference
